I Went To Sony Kando Trip 2024

I had the privilege of attending Sony Kando Trip 2024 in beautiful Santa Barbara. As someone who recently made the switch from Nikon to Sony, this trip was the perfect introduction to how the Sony Alpha community welcomes and supports its creators. The experience felt a bit like the first day of high school for a freshman—exciting yet slightly overwhelming. A huge shoutout to Jessica Kobeissi for guiding me through the event and introducing me to other talented creators.

I was fortunate to receive a "day pass" through Sony's Create Action Program, representing Our Own, the first nonprofit Sony partnered with to launch this initiative.

As a photographer who occasionally dabbles in content creation (not the other way around!), I hope my recap reflects my true passion. The highlight for me? Without a doubt, the gear rental station. I’ve had my eye on the A7C II, and getting to try it out before committing was invaluable. I also tested the SONY A7CR and the new 85mm 1.4 GM II lens—both of which left quite the impression!
